Most users have a copy of People Inc.installed on their PC. This means that they have to be logged into their PC before they can access the system. The People Inc. web client enables users to access the system from any computer via a web browser.
Using the People Inc. web client can enable users to work from another office or from home. It is also an excellent way to give line-managers access to information about their employees.
People Inc. version 4 (released in June 2019) includes a feature that adapts the formatting of Web Client screens when accessed from a mobile phone. This makes it easier to view and manage HR information on the move.
All of the information held within the system can be accessed and updated via the web client. This includes all employee information, courses, vacancies, and all historical records. Access to the Actions List and to any file attachments is also provided, and users can run reports and generate letters from the system.
Users log in with the same account details they normally use. Access profiles ensure that users can only see the information they usually have available to them.
Licences for the web client are managed in a separate pool to the normal system licences. This means that users can protect the ability to access the system from the copy of People inc. installed on their PC.
The Web Client uses the same infrastructure as the People Inc. ESS system, it does not however provide access to the ESS user-account management or the ESS calendars.
