Roster

A roster consists of a number of shifts over a period of time which an employee is expected to work. Rosters can consist of ad hoc patterns (especially for workers on zero-hour contracts or those working irregular hours), or be made up of a repeating pattern of shifts.

Rosters can be used where the volume of work varies over time. Rosters are not typically used within office environments where employees are assigned a perpetual work pattern.
