Port

Within computer networking a port is a distinct end point for communication. Ports can be thought of aa being similar to telephone extension numbers. A computer will typically have a single external address with different types of communication occurring on different ports.

When browsing the internet common ports used are port 80 for HTTP communication and port 443 for HTTPS communication.
